Oris has introduced two new models as part of its Artelier line, the Artelier Date and the Artelier Date Diamonds ladies’ watch. Both are part of the re-launched Artelier collection, which has been subtly redesigned to reinforce the model’s timelessness and underscores the fact that the watches are built to last. The Oris Artelier was originally launched in 2003 and has become one of the central pillars of the Oris collection. This year’s new Artelier models feature subtle design updates conceived to give the watch a more refined feel, while protecting its classic look.
With its 40mm stainless steel case, the Artelier Date is elegant and masculine; at the smaller size of 28mm, the Artelier Lady Date Diamonds is delicate, decorative and intensely feminine. Despite the difference in size, both are a true representation of the Artelier’s timeless aesthetic. The timepieces feature the Artelier’s gently restyled lugs, which have been tapered to give the case a more fluid silhouette. They’re also thinner than older models, in keeping with the tastes of today’s luxury consumer.
The duo also feature a choice of either silver or anthracite guilloche dials engraved with a pattern inspired by the Art Deco movement. The hands and indices have been slimmed down, and the bracelet (an option on both models) now has thinner, flatter links that enhance the new Artelier’s profile.
The 28mm ladies version of the Artelier has 52 diamonds set into the bezel and 11 diamonds on the dial, demonstrating that the watch can be glamorous, as well as understated – a testament to the integrity of the base design.
Both new Artelier models feature automatic movements, date indications at 6 o’clock, and transparent mineral crystal case backs so the owner can admire the traditional mechanical movements inside. The Oris Artelier Date and Artelier Date Diamonds are a testament to Oris’s belief that style should be built to last, and to the company’s philosophy of making beautiful, Swiss Made watches at a reasonable price.
