Rado is renowned the world over for its mastery of materials and Swiss quality and the Rado high-tech ceramic watches are valued not simply for their scratch resistance, but for their beauty and exemplary comfort as well. Sustained research in recent years has allowed the Swiss watchmaker to develop high-tech ceramic in a range of new colors. The inaugural black models were first followed by elegant watches in white high-tech ceramic. A new color to make its debut on the high-tech surfaces and stylish contours of Rado timepieces is the signature color of the Maîtres Chocolatiers – chocolate brown.
As the light changes during the course of the day, the nuanced surfaces evoke the full range of the master’s art, from the darkest of dark chocolates to the sweet, lighter hues. The rich depth of color is enhanced by the sensual pleasure of touch as the ceramic surface warms to the temperature of the wearer’s body.
Three Rado models have been chosen to reveal the exceptional qualities of the new ceramic surface. The sweetest piece in this debut edition from Rado is the Limited Edition Rado HyperChrome Automatic Diamonds. This dazzling work in rich brown high tech ceramic and rose gold detail is studded with a total of 56 Top Wesselton diamonds, transforming this exceptional timekeeper into a sensuous, glamorous and exclusive delight engraved on the chocolate brown high- tech ceramic case back is the limited edition number (XXX/600).
The second in the sweet and sensual new threesome is the Limited Edition Rado HyperChrome Automatic Chronograph Tachymeter. Here Rado’s designers have taken the liberty to contrast the matt brown high-tech ceramic case with a polished rich brown bezel engraved with a tachometric scale and filled with white Super-Luminova. Rose gold colored PVD stainless steel inserts, crown and chronograph pushers echo the rose gold details of the dial with the moving anchor symbol featured on all Rado automatic models. On the chocolate brown high-tech ceramic case back is a special engraving: Limited Edition No. (XXX/999).
Rounding out the new color collection is the Rado HyperChrome Automatic, presenting a polished, rich brown monobloc ceramic case flanked by lateral inserts and crown in rose gold colored PVD stainless steel. The brown dial with rose gold colored hands, black veneer and luminous highlighting is framed by a brown flange and enhanced by a curved sapphire crystal with antireflective coating on both sides.
The case back in polished brown high-tech ceramic with sapphire crystal presents a clear view of the decorated 21-jewel automatic movement and black oscillating weight, while the bracelet features polished and matt brown high tech ceramic links and a three-fold titanium clasp.
Rado has long pursued its vision of superior quality and enduring beauty. The new color is created as the ceramic components are sintered at extremely high temperatures in a specially developed kiln. Although ceramic processes are notoriously difficult to control, Rado’s high-tech ceramic colors offer undeniable proof of the Swiss watchmaker’s exceptional mastery of materials.
