Moleskine has found a way to connect your paper planner and online calendar – a new way to plan that instantly digitizes appointments written on paper, syncing them to online calendars and devices both on Android and iOS. The Smart Planner by Moleskine is the latest addition to the Smart Writing Set, a system made up of a specially designed Paper Tablet notebook, smart Pen+ and Moleskine Notes companion app that makes it possible to digitally edit and share handwritten notes and drawings made on paper in real-time without taking photos, uploading files, or scanning documents.
Like the Smart Writing Set, the Smart Planner builds on the legacy of Moleskine, which was born as a celebration of the small black notebooks used by thinkers, artists, and writers of the past who wanted to create freely in the streets, at cafés or when travelling far a-field. The Smart Planner is designed for today’s digitally connected professionals, knowledge workers and students who prefer to create their plans and develop their ideas on paper first, without giving up the convenience of digital.
An invisible grid made with special Ncode technology patented by NeoLAB Convergence is embedded within each page of the Smart Planner. Thanks to this grid, the Moleskine Notes companion app is able to recognize and synch anything that is written by the Pen+, from appointments to notes and sketches.
Meetings, events and dates written on the planner layout on the left page are synced to Google calendar (for Android) and iCal (for ioS), while handwritten notes and sketches on the right page are synced with the Moleskine Notes app. Please note that the Smart Planner only works in tandem with the Smart Writing Set.
A Google Account is required to sync the Smart Planner with other digital calendars including Moleskine Timepage, iCal and Microsoft Outlook. (Only free Outlook accounts are supported such as @outlook,com, @hotmail.com). The pages of the planner have the popular Moleskine Weekly Planner layout – with a week’s calendar on the left and a ruled page on the right making it easy to organize plans while leaving space for freehand notes and flyaway thoughts.
