What happens when you cross a petrol head with a watch fanatic – the result is a passionate product – an unconventional timepiece. The ambition of REC Watches is to transform their passions into truly unique timepieces. Instead of some obscure year of establishment, every single REC timepiece incorporates salvaged, recycled iconic parts and tells the story of the icon it was made from. A concept they call Recover, Recycle, Reclaim – or just REC for short.
REC watchmakers put their heart, souls and more work than they care to think about into the collections made from MINI Coopers, Ford Mustangs and Porsche 911’s, and always strive to hit a perfect blend of distinctive design, subtle references, handmade components and fantastic storytelling.
The recycled metal part from the car creates visually unique watches, born with a story and a story card to tell it, each watch is engraved with the VIN from the car it was made from and they are made in limited editions.
REC’s 901 Collection is made from salvaged Porsche 911’s. The watch captures the sportiness, elegance and the very best of the legendary Porsche 911 from the air cooled era. There is a wealth of subtle design references, highlighting the Otto Fuchs rims on the case back, the very shape of the watch and the air grill.
The Miyota 9100 Movement provides 40h of power reserve, a stainless steel case, Sapphire Crystal Glass coated with anti-reflective, interchangeable leather straps and the recycled dial comes from a salvaged Porsche 911. It comes with a scan able story card, telling you the story about the car that becomes your watch and the timepiece retails at £1450.
