Sunday, 21 June is Father’s Day in many regions of the world. A day on which many fathers will receive small gifts from their children, such as pictures the children have painted themselves or handicrafts from younger ones or perhaps an invitation to dinner from elder children. It is certainly also a day on which many fathers consciously take time for their family, for their children and to do something nice together.

In many countries of the world, Father’s Day is celebrated as a regional holiday to honor fatherhood, paternal ties to children and the influence of fathers in society. Although it does not take place everywhere on the same date, many countries celebrate it on the third Sunday in June and, since 2012, this date is regarded as the international Father’s Day.
The watch features a large-format date and day display and a water-resistant case. The combination of the iconic Lange outsize date in the classic double aperture with an equally large day display on the opposite side gives a distinctive design.
The latest version of the new Odysseus family combines a 40.5-millimeter white-gold case with a grey dial. Like the hour and minute hands, the hour markers are luminous. The embossed groove structure beneath the applied hour markers and the subsidiary seconds scale enhances the textured effect of the dial.
It contrasts against the glossy matte inner surfaces of the main and subsidiary dials. The tapered buttons for correcting the day and the date are arranged above and beneath the crown. They accentuate the prominent shape of the three-part white-gold case. Integrated straps are available in hand-stitched leather or black rubber. The latter features air ducts on the inside for superb wearing comfort. The watch is powered by the L155.1 DATOMATIC manufacture caliber developed exclusively for the Odysseus. In line with Lange’s philosophy, all parts are lavishly hand-finished and the movement is assembled twice.
